Enjoy the journey

This layout was created at a crop-weekend with some talented ladies. We challenged each other to scraplift a lot of layouts and you can see the other interpretations below. I tried the ombre look for the first time (I know, I'm not exactly a first-mover, huh?) and love how the title turned out with just some basic ink. 

Layout with mini album

For this layout I included a mini album with photos. The idea was inspired by eclectic mini albums and the popular file folders by Heidi Swapp.

I had several photos from 2006 and 2011 documenting the growth of my son and his friend. I wanted to include one from each year, but couldn't find a good way to place them on the layout. Actually I wanted to use three photos, and found it impossible to get a well-balanced layout.

Then I came up with the idea to use all photos, but just layered on top of each other. I created tabs for each page, so they would be easy turn over. 

I used washi-tape to attach the pages together and for the photos (couldn't find my glue in the mess on my desk, but tape works perfect as both adhesive and embellishment :-)). The last page is a 4x6 journaling card, which I attached to the layout. 

I will definitely use this idea again in the future. Super easy way to include many photos and still keep the layout clean and simple.

This Instagram photo has been sitting on my desk for a long time, and I've been waiting for the perfect papers to use with it. The Lucky Charm collection by Dear Lizzy was a satisfying match :-)

Happy 2nd birthday

I'm so behind schedule when it comes to photographing my work. And since I also haven't been able to find the time to update the blog, I thought I might look for 'something' on the computer to share. I don't think this layout ever made it to the blog. It's years old, but I stil find it cute. It's the invite for Asbjørn's 2nd birthday and a photo of him from his birthday party. He turns 7 in a few weeks!

Good Cheer

This layout was a challenge to myself: To use a huge bold title (this one is from some old OA Christmas paper) and bold colors and papers. It is very different from my other projects, but I love it. Also love the photo of my sons: Melvin resting on Asbjørns lap, while he is playing a game on my phone. The do make me happy when skies are grey!

Project Life (week 14+15)

Didn't realize before I took these pictures, that I almost kept both weeks in the same color scheme. Guess I like those colors right now!

Not much happening, just documenting everyday life, which makes me happy. Oh, we did get a new computer! I still haven't used it yet, as most of the software I use is just for Windows. Someday...I will love editing pics on the huge screen for my photography business.

 

And week 15: The week Melvin started daycare (we found out on Thursday that he got accepted to begin alreday on Monday):  

Chapter 1 - the beginning

I am taking a layering class at Studio Calico this month. I have become a huge fan of layering, and am still trying to incorporate it into my CAS (clean and simple) style. The first challenge was to lift a layout in the class pdf. I liftet the talented Marcy Penner, as she had done a grid design. I am forever a big fan of grid designs!

 

I have been too lazy to pull ouyt my sewing machine for months, but did it for this project. And got to stich on a bunch of other projects too, while it was on the table.

 

I cannot deny I love brown and tone on tone.
